Muuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuddd!

So Sasha and I went to Mt. Snow over Memorial Day Weekend. Apart from misplaced keys, a forgotten purse (retrieved the next day) and a flat tire we had a fabulous time.

One afternoon I decided to take Sasha to Grout Pond and hike around it. In the back of  my mind I already heard Sasha singing: Mud, mud, MUUUDDDD, oh how I love good old mud. Since I heard from fellow guests that the hike is superb in that it is easy and dry I thought Sasha was just dreaming. We get there, I start walking and within seconds we reach, yes, you guessed it, mud.

A VERY happy Sasha looked gleefully at me and did a nose dive. This is what she looked like afterwords:

Once we had completed our hike I found a beautiful entry to the crystal clear pond. I got her trusty Chuck-It ball and walked toward the pond. There were probably about a dozen people, all staring at Sasha - I could hear her yell: "Get out of the waaaaay, I am going after the ball." The mud was flying everywhere, people saying "Oh my God, where has she been". The ball flew into the pond and Sasha followed it with abandon. Ten minutes later she was clean, I was happy and people were still staring at me.

Ah well, a dog's life...

Munch Munch

Last week sometime, after a long day I came home from an evening out. Tired and somewhat groggy I decided to take the five Twenty-Dollar bills I had in my pocket out and put them onto my coffee table. I wedged them underneath a candle and left for a bath. Upon my return I was greeted by an unusual sight - dozens of little pieces of my bills scattered across the floor. Sasha looked at me in complete innocence as I realized what had happened. She had succumbed to the smell of money and had tried to eat the bills!!

In complete panic I looked at the pieces and began, in a puzzle like effort, to put the pieces back together. With lots of tape and quite a bit of patience I realized I had five semi-complete bills - bits and pieces in Sasha's stomach but for the most part complete.

Mortified about this happening - MY dog eating money, completely unheard of - I went to the bank with my taped bills and explained to the teller about the mishap. Not only did he laugh, he commented that he had two dogs and had gone through the same thing before.

Happily I walked out of the bank, five brand new bills in my hand and a lesson learned. Never EVER leave bills out where a dog can munch on them...
